Guests:
Jon Karl

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)
Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Il)
Greta Van Susteren
Katrina vanden Heuvel
Donna Brazile
Dan Senor

Stephanopoulos: OMG Obama might lose a vote!
Can the Presidency survive!?!

Audience: oooh

Stephanopoulos: this is the most critical
moment of the entire Presidency and
he's gonna lose!

Karl: this will be biggest Congressional
effort since health care reform

Stephanopoulos: wow

Karl: Obama is going on tv shows from
CNN to The View to Let's Make A Deal
and bringing in trusted idiots from
the Bush administration

Stephanopoulos: what if Congress votes 'no'?

Karl: he probably won't bomb but on
the other hand he's got the military all excited

[ break ]

Stephanopoulos: Dennis will Obama
bomb if Congress votes no?

McDonough: look everyone agrees
Assad used chemical weapons so the only
question is she he face any consequences
for gassing little children

Stephanopoulos: I see

McDonough: we think Congress should
shoulder some of the blame if this goes
badly or we don't bomb and Assad gets away with it

Stephanopoulos: some Congressman want
to impeach Obama if he bombs

McDonough: yes let's impeach the
President for bombing the new Hitler –
that makes perfect sense

Stephanopoulos: if Congress votes 'no'
conservatives say Obama will be weak
and should just resign

McDonough: in World War One our boys
were gassed and call me crazy but we think
it's pretty important to keep a 100 year old
ban on such horrible things

Stephanopoulos: MoveOne says we already
know we will be in a quagmire while
Ted Cruz says our troops would be
fighting for Al-Qaeda

McDonough: Ted Cruz is a moron

Stephanopoulos: we all know that

McDonough: look this is not
Iraq or Libya it's more like
New Orleans after Katrina –
some great destruction followed
by no U.S. involvement

Stephanopoulos: will this pass?

McDonough: should Assad be given a
green light to use poison gas or not?

Stephanopoulos: thanks for coming

[ break ]

Stephanopoulos: Ted you say American
will become al-qaeda's air force

Cruz: Assad is a terrible horrible gas-using maniac

Stephanopoulos: but you don't support an attack

Cruz: yes because Americans were
not gassed so who cares?

Stephanopoulos: Obama says it's to
enforce international norms

Cruz: that's not the job of the U.S. military

Stephanopoulos: what would you do?

Cruz: tell Iraq not allow fly-overs
and force a vote in the Security Council

Stephanopoulos: that vote would fail

Cruz: then we should provoke wars
with China and Russia

Stephanopoulos: how does that hurt Assad?

Cruz: Assad is a murderous tyrant
but the rebels are tied to Al-Qaeda

Stephanopoulos: I see

Cruz: Al-Qaeda could take over
and get access to the chemical weapons

Stephanopoulos: even some Republicans
says you use cheap lines to garner headlines

Cruz: Dennis Kucinich said that thing
about Al-Qaeda first

Stephanopoulos: well I'm sold

Cruz: also I saw it on Twitter

Stephanopoulos: does the President have
power to use force without approval?

Cruz: no it would violate the Constitution

Stephanopoulos: sounds like you'd
impeach if he bombs

Cruz: who cares about Assad –
Obama doesn't even care that terrorists
killed Americans at Benghazi!

[ break ]

Stephanopoulos: Dude you are a
Republican who supports the President

Kinzinger: yes but I don't even know
who my White House liaison is!

Stephanopoulos: that is so sad

Brazile: Obama must sounds
a certain trumpet

Stephanopoulos: or vuvezuela

Van Susteren: Obama has been golfing
while Assad has been gassing kids –
clearly he doesn't care at all

Stephanopoulos: what happened to
GOP hawks who used to love
bombing the middle east?

Senor: there are two types of Republicans
- those who don't want to bomb anyone and
those who don't want to bomb anyone
as long as Obama is President

Stephanopoulos: so no bombing then

Senor: but we have to bomb Iran!

Heuvel: we need forceful diplomacy

Stephanopoulos: forceful without bombing?

vanden Heuvel: no – look Iraq poisoned
the well and there is no imminent
threat to Americans

Van Susteren: how can this be important because
Congress won't come back from vacation?

Kinzinger: Obama won't let us!

Suster: you don't need his permission

Kinzinger: this is just like appeasing
Adolf Hitler – I'm with Obama!

Brazile: good point young man

Senor: Assad will keep using chemical
weapons if we don't act

vanden Heuvel: We can act but
we don't need bomb

Senor: 100,000 people are dead!

vanden Heuvel: how does using
military might help?

Senor: by weakening the dude
doing the killing

Brazile: if we bomb they will only hate America more

Stephanopoulos: don't we have to
take a stand against chemical weapons?

Van Susteren: Obama should have bombed two years ago

Kinzinger: George H.W. Bush drew a
red line over chemical weapons years ago

vanden Heuvel: have the international
criminal court indict Assad

Senor: yeah that will work

vanden Heuvel: also America has
used chemical weapons

Stephanopoulos: yeah ok

vanden Heuvel: also Obama should
assemble a group of nations to take
out the weapons

Sentor: that's what bombing is!

vanden Heuvel: I want peaceful force

Stephanopoulos: does the resolution pass?

Van Susteren: it will pass the Senate
but not the House

Stephanopoulos: wow thanks for coming everyone
