This Week with George Stephanopoulos – December 7, 2014

Guests:
Brian Ross

Pierre Thomas

Matthew Olsen

Mayor Bill de Blasio (D-NYC)

Gov. Jon Kasich (R-OH)

Stephanopoulos: OMG the U.S. Navy Seals

attacked in Yemen but the hostage died

Ross: they had to go in because the terrorists

were going to kill their hostage

Stephanopoulos: what went wrong ?

Ross: there was a full moon

Stephanopoulos: oh

Ross: plus a terrorist went out to pee

and saw the SEAL team coming

Stephanopoulos: that's unfortunate

Biden: we will bring these
motherfuckers to justice!

Olsen: this was a very dangerous mission

Stephanopoulos: is al-qaeda

turning into ISIS?

Olsen: seem like it – now they

are killing hostages

Stephanopoulos: now they're

going to release the torture report

Olsen: it's shocking so it will put
Americans overseas in even more danger

Stephanopoulos: why

Olsen: people will find another

reason to hate America even more

Stephanopoulos: after Kirk Cameron's

'Saving Christmas' that seems hard to believe

Olsen: good point George

[ break ]

Stephanopoulos: omg there are protests
all over America just because the
police keep killing people

Thomas: it's a new civil rights movement

about police shooting children with toys

and choking men to death on the sidewalk

Thomas: and now we find the Cleveland

police shot 130 bullets at a car when

they were really shooting at each other

Thomas: Obama wants body cameras

and Bill deBlasio said his son should

be scared of the police

[ break ]

Stephanopoulos: welcome Bill

de Blasio: nice to see you George

Stephanopoulos: was the Staten
Island grand jury right?

de Blasio: look I'm the Mayor and

can't second guess them

Stephanopoulos: do you respect it?

de Blasio: I respect the process

Stephanopoulos: what about the decision?

de Blasio: we need to talk about

racism and police actions

Stephanopoulos: but what about

this individual case?

de Blasio: we support the federal investigation

Stephanopoulos: was there a

civil rights violation?

de Blasio: I'm not a lawyer

Stephanopoulos: where's your flag pin??

de Blasio: I heard you were an idiot

Stephanopoulos: just answer the question

de Blasio: we need to improve relations

with the police and the community

Stephanopoulos: the police union says

you threw the police under the bus

de Blasio: I respect the police but they

should stop killing unarmed black people

Stephanopoulos: do you think your

son is at risk from the NYPD?

de Blasio: of course I do

Stephanopoulos: wow

de Blasio: we told our son cops

are like bears – don't make any

sudden moves around them

Stephanopoulos: also don't feed them

de Blasio: all black people know this George

Stephanopoulos: I suppose

de Blasio: look at how many

young black men are killed by

cops all over America

Stephanopoulos: Giuliani says the

blacks commit all the murders

de Blasio: he's not in touch with reality

Stephanopoulos: he says you are

bringing down respect for the law

de Blasio: like when his buddy Bernie

Kerick committed multiple felonies?

Stephanopoulos: snap

de Blasio: we need to train cops

to de-escalate situations

Stephanopoulos: you say Democrats

need to grow a backbone

de Blasio: yes we need to talk about

income inequality and poverty

Stephanopoulos: dangerous talk mayor

de Blasio: we need to take on the

wealthy and bad corporations!

Stephanopoulos: does Hillary need a spine?

de Blasio: she's great but we need to be

blunt about income disparity and racism

Stephanopoulos: you scare me Bill

de Blasio: we need to bring the fight!

Stephanopoulos: thanks for coming

de Blasio: thanks George

[ break ]

Stephanopoulos: welcome Governor Kasich

Kasich: Good morning George

Stephanopoulos: the Cleveland police

department is like the mafia without

the code of honor

Kasich: there's too much division

in America – why can't we all just get along?

Stephanopoulos: can America rally around

condemning killing unarmed black children

Kasich: in Ohio we try to listen to

everyone whether you are poor

or minority or mentally ill

Stephanopoulos: gosh

Kasich: it's what the Lord wants us to do

Stephanopoulos: what else does god want

Kasich: we help drug addicts

and the working poor

Stephanopoulos: you don't talk like a wingnut

Kasich: we should not tear down

the wealthy and successful either

Stephanopoulos: some conservatives

are mad at your for being soft of hating people

Kasich: but George our nation is
strongest when people are united

Stephanopoulos: but you took

dirty Obama's tainted money

Kasich: it's free money –

why wouldn't I take it?

Stephanopoulos: are you running
for President?

Kasich: I'm too busy working
on infant mortality

Stephanopoulos: what about the Buckeyes?

Kasich: pick us!

In Ohio, Kasich and Kompany make it harder for Democratic voters to vote.
