Meet The Press – July 28, 2013

Guests:
Sec. Jack Lew (Treasury)
Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI)
Christine Quinn (D-NYC)
David Axelrod
Harold Ford
Maria Bartiromo
Mike Murphy

Gregory: wow dozens of people have
been killed in Egypt and Obama
wants to talk about the economy

Audience: woot

Gregory: Jack are we going to have
another government shut down?

Lew: the threat not to raise the
debt ceiling in 2011 hurt the economy

Gregory: news reports say that Obama
will refuse to slash spending which
could shut down the government

Lew: Obama won't accept slashing
domestic spending to fund more
wasteful defense programs

Gregory: will Obama go to the
brink on this issue?

Lew: Washington has to stop playing
these brinksmanship games!

Gregory: will Obama go to the mat?

Lew: Congress has to fund needed programs

Gregory: but will Obama fight?

Lew: yes!

Gregory: Republicans say we need
to reduce the deficit

Lew: Obama has cut the deficit more
than any President since WWII

Gregory: but the debt is so high!

Lew: the IMF said the U.S. is cutting
the debt too much!

Gregory: even so

Lew: lifting the debt ceiling just pays
the bills for money we already spent!

Gregory: can we achieve a grand bargain?

Lew: forget that – we need to help
people live their lives

Gregory: Obama claims we're better
off than we were during the recession

Lew: we've added jobs 40 months in a row

Gregory: oh that

Lew: our recovery is the admiration
of the rest of the world

Gregory: 60% of Americans think
we're on the wrong track

Lew: here's what I do know Fluffy –
another fight over the debt ceiling
is not going to help

Gregory: the reality is that we have
long-term unemployment and
The Wall Street Journal says Obama is
worse for the middle class than any President
ever and is hooking poor people
on a drug called Obamacare

Lew: that's stupid – the last President was named
George W. Bush and he wrecked the economy
– maybe the WSJ didn't hear about that?

Gregory: why are so many people on food stamps?

Lew: we need to do more to help everyone

Gregory: is it Obama's fault that the
recovery is so anemic?

Lew: we inherited an economy in
freefall and we're doing better than
other countries that tried austerity and failed

Gregory: was the IRS scandal a phony scandal

Lew: after weeks and weeks of hearings
and investigations there is no evidence
at all of political involvement and we
have to distinguish reality from fantasy

Gregory: what's going on in Egypt?

Rogers: the military rose up on
behalf of the people!

Gregory: 205 members of the House
voted to stop the NSA from collecting
everyone's phone records

Rogers: we all should be very concerned
about Obama stealing our medical records

Gregory: um... what

Rogers: look before 9/11 there was a
guy in San Diego who was making calls
and he flew into the Pentagon and we missed it

Gregory: do you really need to collect all call records?

Rogers: there is more information on
an envelope you send in the mail than
in this massive database

Gregory: for reals?

Rogers: there have been zero privacy
violations and 54 violent terrorists caught

Gregory: I'm sold

Rogers: also there is no content or
names or addresses – just numbers called

Gregory: how scary is Ed Snowden?

Rogers: he is getting soldiers in
Afghanistan killed

Gregory: yikes

Rogers: also he's empowering the Russians

Gregory: is he coming back?

Rogers: he could have been a heroic
whistleblower and instead he just
gave all our secrets to the Chinese

Gregory: that is so sad

Rogers: if he really thinks he did the
right thing he should come back America
and bring back the stuff he stole
from the American people

Gregory: what did he steal?

Rogers: all the information about the
phone records we took without permission!

Gregory: of course

Gregory: we cannot discuss
Anthony Weiner because the details
are so icky but let's try

Axelrod: Huma is a friend of mine
but this is getting ridiculous – he's an idiot

Gregory: that seems right

Axelrod: how can we miss him
when he won't go away?

Gregory: Maureen Dowd says the Clintons
survived scandal because he actually
had a good track record

Bartiromo: most New Yorkers
want less regulation of businesses

Murphy: he wasn't even a good
Congressman – who cares?

Gregory: Bob Filner is the Mayor
of San Diego and even more pervy
and he's not resigning

Ford: I should be Mayor! Why the hell not?

Gregory: why do these weirdos hang on to power?

Axelrod: Some are pathological and others delusional

Murphy: whatever happened to
honor and shame - we have a narcissistic
culture where you do something bad
it's ok as long you say you feel bad about it

Gregory: welcome Christine Quinn –
what's your take on Anthony's weiner?

Quinn: we need people to believe in
government did you know I am an
awesome city council speaker?

Gregory: do you believe Weiner is disqualified?

Quinn: he's a loser

Gregory: is he disqualified?

Quinn: it's not appropriate for me to
say he's not qualified – but he's not qualified
not just because he's a perv but because
he's a talentless hack

Gregory: why do you support stop-and-frisk?

Quinn: we can use stop-and-frisk
to bring the whole city together –
who doesn't love a good frisking?

Gregory: I don't know

Quinn: we need high-quality stops and frisks!

Gregory: thanks for coming Christine

Gregory: let's talk about Weiner
some more

Murphy: the Democrats have a weak
field like this woman we just talked
to Christine O'Donnell

Gregory: Quinn

Murphy: all those damn Irish are the same

Gregory: the economy is terrible!

Bartiromo: actually the economy is
doing pretty well but we do need to
create jobs by giving businesses
whatever they want

Gregory: please bash Obama for me

Murphy: the debt is high and everyone
hates Barack Obama and also he's a big liberal

Gregory: right

Murphy: if Obama would just move
to the center everything would be great

Axelrod: Obama rescued the American
economy and John Boehner

Murphy: both sides are equally
responsible for the dysfunction in Washington

Ford: we just need to approve a giant
pipeline and pass an infrastructure bill
and give the Republicans whatever they want

Axelrod: Harold he's done that

Ford: but the pipeline!

Axelrod: the pipeline is stupid and the
Republicans just oppose Obama at every turn

Gregory: is it up to the states rescue America?

Murphy: Republican are afraid of the
tea party and Democrats are afraid
of those evil teachers unions

Ford: Obama is talking about jobs and
the GOP is focusing on abortion –
is that really the most pressing issue right now?

Gregory: businesses are making record profits

Bartiromo: there's low-hanging fruit –
for example everyone agrees that we
should cut taxes for the rich

Gregory: Executive Producer
Betsy Fischer Martin started as
an intern and has been been
with MTP for 22 years

Martin: love you too Fluffy

Axelrod: she's why I love this show

Murphy: she's a combination of
mother hen and drill sergeant

Gregory: we will miss you Betsy –
and that's another episode of Meet The Press

This Week with George Stephanopoulos – July 28, 2013

Guests:
Jeff Zeleny
Glenn Greenwald
Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA)
Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL)
Sec. Jack Lew (Treasury)
Stephen Rattner
Katrina Vanden Heuvel
George Will
Peggy Noonan
*****************************

Stephanopoulos: OMG Anthony Weiner's
campaign manager quit!

Zeleny: Nany Pelosi said he should get
a clue just because he said can't stop
sending strange women pictures
of his reproductive organs

Stephanopoulos: wow

Zeleny: it's all quite bizarre

Stephanopoulos: welcome Glenn Greenwald

Greenwald: hi George

Stephanopoulos: could Ed Snowden
really wiretap anyone?

Greenwald: low-level private contractors
have access to trillions of phone calls

Stephanopoulos: good lord

Greenwald: also all your e-mails and
your browsing history

Stephanopoulos: criminy

Greenwald: there may be legal limits but
nothing to stop low-level employees
from listening to anyone's phone calls

Stephanopoulos: is there any evidence
that NSA employees have abused this

Greenwald: sure there is – plus no one
knows what they are really doing

Stephanopoulos: where is Ed Snowden now?

Greenwald: he's somewhere in Russia
and happy to be out of the spotlight

Stephanopoulos: I'm sure – thanks for coming Glenn

[ break ]

Chambliss: Saxby can low-level NSA
employees really listen in on your phone calls?

Chambliss: I was just at the NSA headquarters
and they assured me that they can't monitor
e-mails or phone calls

Stephanopoulos: well that settles that question

Chambliss: yep – I was convinced

Stephanopoulos: Dick what about the vote
in the House to stop metadata collection?

Durbin: it was a close vote and
we're going to get more oversight

Stephanopoulos: do you support limits?

Durbin: absolutely – we should stop
all this data collection and completely
reform the FISA court too

Chambliss: look we have plenty of oversight
now and we should never invade anyone's
privacy ever but also if had the metadata
collection program in 2001 we
would have prevented 9/11 and
saved thousands of lives

Stephanopoulos: what's going on in Egypt?

Durbin: we have to make it clear to
Egypt what is unacceptable for us
in their country

Chambliss: we need to stay our of their
country but also make it clear what
we will and will not tolerate in their country

Stephanopoulos: thanks for coming guys

[ break ]

Stephanopoulos: is Congress going
to insist on shutting down the government?

Lew: it would be nice if the Congress didn't
actively threaten the U.S. economy

Stephanopoulos: interesting concept

Lew: last time there was a debt
ceiling fight it did great damage

Stephanopoulos: so will we go through
it all over again?

Lew: we need to work together to create jobs

Stephanopoulos: but both sides are dug in

Lew: we need to break the logjam in Congress

Stephanopoulos: how do yo do that?

Lew: try to find some reasonable
people in elective office

Stephanopoulos: good luck with that

Lew: look we learned in 2011 threatening
not to raise the debt ceiling is a terrible idea

Stephanopoulos: but the President has to negotiate

Lew: even agreeing to negotiate over
whether to pay America's debts sends
a bad message and Obama won't do it

Stephanopoulos: who is going to
be the next Fed Chair?

Lew: that's a secret

Steph: you're not seriously considering
Larry Summers are you?

Lew: um maybe

Stephanopoulos: will Obama bail out Detroit?

Lew: no

Stephanopoulos: thanks for coming Jack

[ break ]

Stephanopoulos: isn't the recovery weak
because of GOP threats over the debt ceiling?

Will: Obama's recovery from the Bush
recession is not as good as George Bush's
economic peak or Reagan's recovery

Van Den Heuvel: the GOP keeps
sabatoging the economy

Noonan: the American people just
reelected Obama which proves
how much they hate him

Rattner: Congress is doing nothing!

Meet The Press - July 21, 2013

Guests:
Marc Morial - President of the
National Urban League and
former Mayor of New Orleans
Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-OH) &
Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus
Tavis Smiley – PBS
Charles Ogletree - Harvard Law School
Michael Steele - former Chair of the RNC
Chuck Todd
Gov. Rick Snyder (R-MI)
Fmr. Gov. Jennifer Granholm (D-MI)

Gregory: the President come out as a black man!

Fudge: the President made it clear
that Trayvon had rights not to
be followed and killed

Obama: Trayvon Martin could have
been me and African-Americans have
a history that doesn't go away

Gregory: Tavis you said the
President's comments were weak

Smiley: his statements don't count
because he was pushed to make
those remarks and anyway Obama
lacks moral leadership

Gregory: I love it

Smiley: Obama's failure to speak out
on race is this is just like Bill Clinton
allowing genocide in Rwanda

Gregory: is Obama responsible for genocide?

Ogletree: no

Gregory: dammit

Ogletree: he's not a black President –
he's the President who happens to be black

Morial: he started the process which
will hopefully lead to real action

Steele: I agree with Tavis -
it's Obama's fault that we
don't have gun control

Gregory: nice

Morial: the President can't
do it all alone

Smiley: he's weak! Weak I tell you!

Morial: let me finish Tavis

Smiley: Ogletree is wrong –
Obama has tried to avoid
race at all costs

Ogletree: not true

Smiley: Obama said only athletes
can solve our racial problem!

Ogletree: that's crap Tavis

Smiley: screw you Harvard

Ogletree: excuse me – he's pushed
health care reform and gun control

Fudge: the House is trying to
eliminate food stamps!

Gregory: Stand Your Ground laws
have redefined the concept of self-defense

Steele: those laws are probably
bad but the federal government
should mind its own business

Gregory: good point

Steele: Stand Your Ground was
not used by the Zimmerman defense

Morial: but it was used in the jury instruction

Smiley: why hasn't the NRA argued
that Trayvon should have carried
a gun to defend himself from
George Zimmerman?

Morial: why wasn't George Zimmerman
arrested after killing a child?

Gregory: is that sill illegal in Florida?

Ogletree: that's unclear Fluffy

Smiley: the President said Friday
there ain't going to be a civil rights case

Gregory: The Washington Post's
Richard Cohen asked who will be
brave enough to admit we must assume
all black men are criminals

Fudge: police stop and frisk black kids
no wonder they get convicted more!

Smiley: I want Obama to lead!

Morial: we need economic opportunity

Gregory: Obama said in 2008 we
are not going to get past race easily

Ogletree: President Obama put
Trayvon Martin in American history

Smiley: Obama must leads the
nation in a moral conversation!

Gregory: but conservative says race
had nothing to do with Trayvon Martin case

Steele: well that's stupid isn't it

[ break ]

Gregory: Governor Snyder you said
in 2011 you not allow Detroit
declare bankruptcy – what happened?

Snyder: I changed my mind –
the citizens of Detroit deserve better services

Gregory: half the street lights don't work

Snyder: it's a bit of a problem

Gregory: clearly

Snyder: I'm bullish on Detroit –
we just need to get rid of the city government

Gregory: you have some very lazy greedy retirees

Snyder: shit's gettin' real

Gregory: how will you tell these retirees to suck it

Snyder: it's going to be ugly

Gregory: that's true all over America –
I hate these awful retired teachers
and cops and firefighters

Gregory: what about a federal bailout?

Snyder: in the next month we will remove all blight

Gregory: thanks for coming Rick

[ break ]

Gregory: in 2012 Obama said 'we refuse
to let Detroit go bankrupt' but
he meant the auto industry

Granholm: it's simple - Detroit lost
90% of its manufacturing jobs

Gregory: conservatives blame unions
and blame you for boosting your state
when you were governor

Granholm: to be fair this is a
problem all across America

Brooks: San Francisco lost manufacturing
jobs and they're doing well

Morial: true

Todd: the problem is cronyism –
also businesses failed too

Morial: poor people don't get bailouts
quel surprise

Gregory: laissez les bad temps roulez

Brooks: Detroit is just like the fall of
the Roman Empire - entrenched elites
engaged in orgies and were overrun by goths

Gregory: is American declining?

Brooks: not if you're white and
college educated – the problem is class

Morial: we need to address that too

Gregory: my mother is from Detroit
thank god she left

Granholm: Germany is creating
middle-class manufacturing jobs

Gregory: white people say Obama
doesn't care about race

Brooks: yes but Obama's ability to see
both sides comes from the fact that
he has a white mother and Kenyan father

Gregory: but conservatives say now
is not the time to talk about white
people killing unarmed black teenagers

Brooks: well that's stupid

Morial: this was deep in his consciousness
but he has addressed civil rights and
health care and predatory lending

Todd: Tavis says he was too cautious
on race but people said that Obama is
too cautious on every issue

Gregory: true

Todd: also Obama is an anthropologist
who studies human beings from a distance

Gregory: and a law professor who
poses tough questions to us all

Todd: also to Obama just winning the
Presidency was a big statement
to young African-Americans

Brooks: he's also pushing immigration reform
it's about more than just black and white

Gregory: Helen Thomas was a White House
reporter pioneer who asked tough questions

Audience: what an amazing concept

Gregory: and that's another
episode of Meet the Press

This Week with George Stephanopoulos - July 21, 2013

Guests:
Mayor Dave Bing (D-Detroit)
Van Jones
Matthew Dowd
Dana Perino
Pierre Thomas
Cokie Roberts

Stephanopoulos: omg the President quietly
admitted this Friday that's he black!!

Audience: no!

Obama: people used to hold their
valuables tightly when I was around

Stephanopoulos: to be fair that
still happens to Vladimir Putin

Obama: could Trayvon had
stood his ground?

Audience: oooh

Obama: we're a more perfect union

[ break ]

Stephanopoulos: Detroit is bankrupt

Bing: we're coming back!!

Stephanopoulos: did you ask the
government to bail you at?

Bing: not yet – first we have
to talk to our creditors

Stephanopoulos: but everybody
these days gets federal help

Bing: I know – that's part of the problem
Obama might say no

Stephanopoulos: oh come on –
you know you want some of
those sweet federal dollars

Bing: George you don't understand –
we don't just need a little cash –
the city is in big trouble!

Stephanopoulos: some low-level judge
threw out your bankruptcy claim

Bing: screw that George – we're in a crisis!

Stephanopoulos: do white people
in Michigan hate Detroit?

Bing: of course but that's not important
right now – anyway it will hurt
white suburbs if Detroit fails

Stephanopoulos: is Detroit going to change?

Bing: the Downtown is hot!

Stephanopoulos: it's hot everywhere

Bing: but our neighborhoods
are awful and services suck

Stephanopoulos: sounds delightful

Bing: we're coming back! I swear!

Stephanopoulos: thanks for coming Chandler

[ break ]

Stephanopoulos: Obama stood
his ground as a black man!

Dowd: it was important to quell
all the black violence after the verdict

Stephanopoulos: what violence?

Dowd: the riots in my mind

Jones: Matthew Dowd there
was no violence

Dowd: there still could be
[ fingers crossed ]

Jones: the President words
were very personal

Stephanopoulos: too personal?

Jones: other Presidents have talked
openly about being black Irish

Perino: Obama is trying to calm
people down to stop black people from
rioting when there are no civil rights
charges against Zimmerman

Thomas: at least Zimmerman isn't
going to get his damn gun back

Roberts: I think Sasha and Malia
made their Dad talk to the nation

Dowd: let's face it – Stand Your Ground
makes people want to shoot other people

Roberts: Trayvon should've carried
and gun and shot the nut stalking him

Thomas: if Trayvon had shot that
guy he would be in prison for life

Perino: the President should have
addressed the case where two
black teenagers shot a baby

Jones: a black woman fires a warning
shot and gets 20 years while Zimmerman
kills a kid and gets off

Stephanopoulos: it happens

Jones: white conservatives keep bringing
up shootings in Chicago – what if there is
a silent majority of Jack-Kemp-conservatives
who care about urban areas and black people?

Stephanopoulos: indeed and what if
flying unicorns take over the Senate?

Dowd: if I were a Republican candidate
for President I would focus on
fixing inner cities – GOP primary
voters would love that

Perino: George W. Bush showed he cared about poor people by enacted No Child Left Behind

Stephanopoulos: he united a divided
nation hating that law

Roberts: and now we are less divided as a nation

Dowd: but we have a huge class divide
between the rich and the rest of you peons

Stephanopoulos: thanks for coming everyone

Meet The Press – July 7, 2013

Guests:
Tom Costello
Debbie Hersman (NTSB)
Mohamed El Baradei
Nabil Fahmy (Fmr. Egypt Amb. to U.S.)
Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ)
Robin Wright
Tom Friedman
Jeff Goldberg
Chuck Todd
Andrea Mitchell
EJ Dionne
David Brooks
Gene Robinson
Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID)

Gregory: wow what's up with the plane crash in San Francisco?

Costello: the tail slammed into the sea wall

Gregory: yikes

Costello: the FAA will listen to
voices in the cockpit

Gregory: can they hear the voices in my head?

Costello: no David

Gregory: welcome Debbie –
how's investigation coming?

Hersman: we will interview surviving
crew members and find out what happened

Gregory: I know you can't jump
to conclusions but just tell why
this happened right now

Hersman: I can't do that Fluffy

Gregory: what is terrorism? or a hurricane?

Herman: are you some kind of moron?

Gregory: that's not the point Debbie

Gregory: Mohammed El Baradei
was supposed to be Prime Minister
of Egypt then denied it and now
he claims he has a fever and the
only cure is to cancel his
appearance on Meet The Press

El Baradei: and more cowbell!

Reporter: no one has any idea who
the military will install to will run Egypt

Gregory: they need a permanent guest host

Reporter: well it's utter chaos here

Gregory: who the hell is going
to govern Egypt?

Fahmy: I have no freaking idea David

Gregory: is it right to have the military
overthrow a democratically elected official?

Fahmy: this was like having 50 million
people protesting on Capitol Hill –
the military had to do something!

Gregory: we don't cover protests -
my god they're full of hippies

Fahmy: any President where half
the country hates his guts has a problem

Gregory: that never stopped George Bush
and he wasn't even popularly elected

Fahmy: well that's your problem

Gregory: won't islamists now
believe that democracy doesn't work?

Fahmy: no I love the islamists -
I just don't want them in power

Gregory: what about Americans
vacationing in Egypt right now?

Fahmy: did they hear not hear we
have mass protests, riots and a military coup?

Gregory: sorry all the news networks
are covering the Zimmerman trial

Fahmy: oh right

Friedman: I was just in Egypt and
my cabdriver told me what the
country needs is unicorns and ponies

Goldberg: the muslim brotherhood
is totalitarian, misogynist and just
generally a bunch of jerks

Gregory: but they were elected

Goldberg: if the protesters has just been
patient the Brotherhood would
have collapsed but now they'v
got people feeling sorry for them
- as Deep Throat said of Haldemen
- I didn't think that was possible

Robin Wright: this coup set a bad
precedent for middle east democracies

Gregory: yes a coup will do that

Mitchell: free and fair elections
do not mean democracy –
the brotherhood was elected
but did not represent the people

Gregory: of course this makes
Obama look bad and uninvolved

Todd: this time Obama is hands-on and involved

Gregory: I don't care I like
my narrative and I've memorized it

Todd: The United States owns Egypt

Gregory: I did not know that

Todd: Obama won it in a poker
game in Turkey in 2009

Mitchell: don't kid yourself the U.S.
is behind this coup Fluffy

Gregory: but how does this
make Obama look bad?

Friedman: we are freaks!
Americans are freaking freaks!

Gregory: have you been reading
my diary again Tom?

Friedman: well don't post it online Fluffy

Wright: the Egyptians have to
decide what kind of government they want
not just who they want in charge

Goldberg: the Muslim Brotherhood
waited for decades to take
power and they blew it

Gregory: but they are martyrs in a coup

Goldberg: they staged their own
coup last year when they tried
to seize absolute power

Gregory: Bob please bash Obama for me

Menendez: we should use
our leverage in Egypt

Gregory: how do we do that?

Menendez: strongly recommend Egypt
get a new and better Constitution with
an electoral college and right to bare arms

Gregory: should Obama pressure Egypt to respect Islamists?

Menendez: Morsi was a dictator you know

Gregory: but he's a handsome man

Menendez: that's true

Gregory: what should we do if other
countries offer Ed Snowden asylum?

Menendez: we should cut off all
trade if they accept that hacking fool

Gregory: what about delaying the
employer mandate in the health
care reform law?

Menendez: 96% of companies were
not affected by the mandate anyway

Gregory: panel health care reform
is difficult isn't it?

Brooks: we should work through
the messiness rather than
putting off the messiness

Gregory: Eric Cantor told me that mandates are bad

Dionne: Congress will never fix
the health care law because they want to destroy it

Gregory: I don't understand
health care reform but I do understand
that I'm paying more taxes and
it makes a lot of people mad

Robinson: which people?

Gregory: a lot of people

Robinson: ok

Mitchell: Obama has made a
concession to critics and it
politically damaging

Robinson: is it a good law?

Mitchell: how should I know?

Todd: Republicans are
trying to sabotage the law

Brooks: but they are trying to destroy
a rube goldberg law – which shouldn't
have employer health care at all

Dionne: um what?

Gregory: Raul talk tea party to me

Labrador: the health care law just
doesn't work – if it affected so few
employes why was this big law necessary?

Gregory: will Republicans pass
immigration reform is George W. Bush
asks them to?

Labrador: I'm all for immigration
reform but only if we close the border first

Gregory: right

Labrador: I don't trust Janet Napolitano
because she says the border is pretty
secure right now

Robinson: it's 2,000 miles long –
the border will never be impregnable!

Brooks: the Republican argument
against the immigration reform is
one of the worst i've heard – it's mystifying

Labrador: that's ridiculous –
the American people want a
100-foot high wall topped
with razor wire 1,000 miles long

Gregory: I like it

Labrador: also local police
should enforce immigration laws

Brooks: the law would cut illegal
immigration – isn't what you want?

Labrador: but not by enough!

Brooks: but a lot more than the current law!

Labrador: we need walls not amnesty

Brooks: generally when something
is an improvement you support it

Labrador: booo!!

Gregory: George W. Bush is
throwing his enormous prestige
behind immigration reform

Todd: he was becoming less unpopular
because people forgot all about him

Gregory: Obama has no real
second-term agenda and I hate him

Mitchell: there is no House
version of Marco Rubio

Todd: it was supposed to be
Paul Ryan but it turns out he's a weasel

Gregory: Raul don't you want hispanic votes?

Labrador: if we enact a bad bill it
will be the death of the Republican party

Gregory: whoa

Labrador: but if we can cut down
on illegal immigration it will be
a big achievement

Gregory: we already have – it's way down

Labrador: 20,000 guest workers per
year is much too low

Gregory: Michelle Obama called
the White House a prison!

Mitchell: the nuts in the conservative
blogosphere totally lied about that

Gregory: I'm shocked they're
usually so reliable

Mitchell: indeed

Gregory: and that's another
episode of Meet The Press
